Inspired by the basketball cards he collected as a child — and especially Michael Jordan’s iconic free throw line dunk during the 1988 Slam Dunk Contest — this piece reimagines that moment of flight through the lens of imagination and becoming.

The artwork features Marcus, a recurring figure in Brit Sigh’s universe, suspended mid-air with butterfly wings and the Earth resting above his head. His pose draws directly from that historic dunk — a moment that came to symbolize belief, elevation, and possibility.

Here, that same energy is transformed. Marcus is not chasing a rim, but something larger — his own sense of self.
